thinky thinks on philosophy

  • Philosophical questions

  • How should we understand the world?
    • a nice suitcase word for everything that goes on in us and outside us.
    • not argue against others though their deconstrcution should be possible
    • is it the only understanding?
    • not clear it should be
    • the understanding hides as much as it reveals
  • The Earth metaphor
    • no switch to fix what is wrong
    • the vandals own the handle
    • the justice metaphor
    • understanding at the expense of blurring or even forgetting the details
  • How is this possible?
What is our structure for understanding the world?

  • (1) our massively multitasking mind
    • let us say there is a million proesses and subprocesses.
    • there is no way to describe multitasking
  • (2) there is active family resemblance.
    • words are fluid...
    • not concepts, but processes
    • and it is not even that simple
    • some processes are universal, built into our animal being,
    • others are peculiar to the person
    • like philosophical understandings and my general conceptions
  • consequences
    • contexts and contextualizing
    • understandings
    • a new theory of knowledges
  • the world cannot be conceptualized
    • concepts are fluid
    • our world is massive, we overestinate our understanfing. the earth letaphir,
    • human ignorance is the norm
    • the future cannot be known
  • on philosophy
    • the big philosophical questions many of them are not questions, how can that be?
    • the myth of the unitary understandings
    • the future cannot be known
